BIOPTRAIN: Marie Curie Early Stage Training on Bioinformatics Optimisation

1 fully-funded three-year PhD positions


BIOPTRAIN is a European multi-centre interdisciplinary PhD programme of world-class quality in bioinformatics optimisation algorithms. This newly-funded Early Stage Training (EST) programme involves cutting-edge research activity, spanning areas such as optimisation, machine learning, proteomics, computational chemistry, protein structure prediction, biomedical informatics and medical signal processing. Extensive opportunities to travel among the participating institutions and across Europe are an integral part of the programme.

Topic areas of the PhD positions include, but are not restricted to:

  • Theoretical and high performance bioinformatics algorithms
  • Protein Structure and Folding Optimisation Algorithms
  • Sequence Analysis/High Throughput Genotyping Algorithms
  • Gene Expression Data Mining
  • Machine Learning, Statistical Methods and Data Visualisation for Bioinformatics
